Mighty Zakum, once a force to be reckoned with, now... not so much. Post-4th job, Zakum has become quite an easy challenge, but still, for those of you out there who aspire to solo it, you'd best know everything about him.
First of all, the Zakum fight occurs in 4 stages. The first stage is Zakum's 8 arms, which comprise roughly half its total HP. Stage 2 3 and 4 are his body stages, all of which are mostly the same. First of all, lets take a look at what he can do.
Each of Zakum's 8 arms are different. There are 4 arms on each side and each one has a similar arm on the other side. First of all are the bottom arms, which are completely identical. Their only ability is a ground pound attack. Both have 25,300,000HP.
The second arms from the bottom are unique, however. The left side one is the curse (or status) arm, this arm casts status afflictions (such as darkness) for as long as it remains, making it a high priority target. The right side is the healing arm, which as its name would suggest, heals. It also buffs Zakum with attack and defence up. The curse arm has 27,500,000HP while the heal arm has 30,000,000.
The third arms from the bottom are the fire (left) and ice (right) arms. These cast full screen attacks of their respective elements, though the fire arm also casts a poison cloud in the bottom right corner. Both arms have 22,000,000HP.
Finally, the top arms have HP and MP drain, both arms are identical. 33,000,000HP each.
Damage from all arms is minimal. (about 3,200 max)
Zakum's 3 body stages are all similar, having 3 attacks as well as some supportive buffs. The first, and most common attack, is it's hp1/mp1 attack, which is made obvious by a large ball shaped object appearing in Zakum's mouth, the ball then explodes and everyone gets hit. His second attack is a full screen lightning attack, minimal damage (similar to the arms) but it also locks skills. The third attack is a falling flame pillar attack, minimal damage (though slightly higher than the lightning), it also stuns on hit, though it is avoidable.
Zakum frequently uses super physical and magical defence, as well as def up and attack up. Lastly, all 3 bodies summon minions. The boogies from body 1 are worth a mention, as their magical attack can stun. The body 2 and 3 blue summons will split apart into 2 smaller ones when killed. The brown summons are of no concern. Finally, all 3 bodies have very high touch damage, ranging between 7,000 and 9,000, each body dealing slightly more than the one before it. The first body has 66,000,000HP while the second has 88,000,000. Finally the third has 110,000,000.
